I am planning a trip to Disney and am considering buying the Dining Plan - my youngest son will be just shy of 3 at the time and the DDP starts from ages 3. Can I buy the dining plan anyway? what do you suggest. He is a good eater.

Hi Karen, you aren't required to purchase the Disney Dining Plan for children under the age of 3, and personally, I think that your son won't need it.

At any buffet or all you care to eat restaurant, kids under 3 eat free.  Since many of the character meals are actually buffets or all you care to eat, you'll probably find that your son will eat free quite a bit.

At the other restaurants, where you order off of a menu, you can always order a la carte, and pay for his meal.

I hope that helps.  Have a great vacation!
