We are planning a trip to Disney between Christmas and New Years. Not sure if I should get water park option with my tickets. Kind of wondering if weather is usually warm enough to swim at that time of the year?

Hi Kathy. A trip to Walt Disney World over the holidays is absolutely delightful! Get ready to be amazed by the incredible decorations and the spirit of the season everywhere you look!

While the weather in December in Orlando can certainly be very pleasant during the day with average temperatures in the mid-to-upper 70's, you should expect to have some cooler nights after the sun goes down that will require light jackets and sweaters. However, Mother Nature is helped along a bit since all of the Disney-operated resort hotel pools and water parks have water temperatures heated year-round to 82 degrees.

I would recommend waiting until after your arrival to add the Water Park Fun and More option to your Magic Your Way tickets. That way, you can keep an eye on the weather and determine your personal swimming comfort level after checking out the  daily high temps for your visit dates. Perhaps take a dip in your hotel pool and see how enjoyable you find the experience before making a water park trek.

Wishing you a pixie-dusted Disney vacation this December! Please feel free to send more questions my way in the days leading up to your trip!
