We are planning a trip December 15-22 with our 5 year old daughter. It will be her first time! Should we expect huge crowds at this time?? Also, what days are better for certain parks as far as planning our week? Help!! :)

    Hi Holly,

You chose a lovely time of year to take your daughter to Walt Disney World for the first time. The theme parks and resorts will be beautifully decorated for the holidays.

I visit the unofficial website touringplans.com for crowd predictions. You are going during an interesting week - at the beginning of your vacation the theme parks will likely not be too crowded; however, as you move through that week and into the weekend, the theme parks are likely going to get quite crowded as you are heading into the weekend before Christmas. I would consider doing most of what you would like to do in theme parks early in your vacation, possibly saving the last weekend for relaxing at your resort.

I suggest that you consult the Disney World Park Hours to plan each day. Use the calendar on the site to choose the days that you are interested in. I would look for which park has Extra Magic Hours each day, when Walt Disney World resort guests can get into a theme park early or stay late on certain days. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort, I would suggest going to the park that has Extra Magic Hours on any given day. If you are not staying on Walt Disney World property, you might want to avoid the park with Extra Magic Hours on any given day as it will attract many guests who are staying at a Walt Disney World resort.  Also note that on certain days, Magic Kingdom will close at 7:00 p.m. for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. This is a fun activity that you might want to check out - it does require separate admission. However, if you are not going to this party, probably best to avoid Magic Kingdom on that day as you would have shorter hours.

I hope that this information helps, Holly. We would love to help you continue to plan your vacation - please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
