Hi! Planning a trip in December, but wanted to know what the cancellation policy is for Disneyland Hotel and Grand Californian. We are coming from Hawaii and with the COVID restrictions we want to know what would be refunded if we decide not to come.

    Hello Cailee,

It's wonderful to hear that you're planning a trip to "The Happiest Place on Earth!"

When you put your vacation plans together, whether you're booking a vacation package with a Resort hotel stay and theme park tickets, or booking a Resort hotel room-only reservation, you'll want to take a look at the Terms and Conditions link available on the "Your Cart" page before you complete your check out. You can find the link towards the bottom of the page before the "Continue Shopping for" section. This is the best source for policies that would be current at the time you book your stay.

The policies for cancellations are a bit different for vacation packages and for room-only reservations.

Currently, for vacation packages, if you cancel your booking 30 days or more before your arrival, you can receive a refund of what you paid, and the refund would exclude any cancellation fees charged by third-party providers. If you cancel 5 days to 29 days before your arrival, you would have a $200 cancellation fee. Again the refund would exclude any cancellation fees charged by third-party providers. If you cancel 4 days or less before your arrival, or if you're a no-show, the full price of your package would be non-refundable.

For Resort room-only reservations, you would need to cancel your reservation at least 5 days before your arrival date for a full refund. If you cancel less than 5 days before your arrival, you would have a cancellation fee in the amount of the first night's room cost plus taxes and fees.

I hope this information is useful, Cailee. If you'd like additional help with questions about your booking, or if you need to cancel a booking, you can call the Walt Disney Travel Company at (714) 520-5060 and speak with a Cast Member for assistance.

Cailee, be sure to take a look at the helpful "Know Before You Go" information for the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort. The information will give you additional useful tips to help you plan for your visit.

Here's wishing you a wonderful stay at the Disneyland Resort!

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
