Planning a trip December 2020. If staying at off-site Disney hotel, how does entry to EMH work? I have been to WDW during Christmas in the past as a base ticket (no hotel) and it appeared as though everyone got into the park at the same during EMH?

    Greetings Laura!

While December 2020 may seem like a long time away, time sure does seem to fly especially when you are planning a magical vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort! December is my absolute favorite time to visit. There are so many holiday happenings throughout all four of the Theme Parks and even the Resort Hotels. One of my favorite entertainment offerings is Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Each time I watch this I am in awe as buildings and rooftops seem to come to life right before my eyes.

One of the benefits to staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel or at one of our participating hotels, is access to special guest benefits such as Extra Magic Hours and early access to FastPass+ planning.  In order to access Extra Magic Hours, valid theme park admission and hotel ID are required. Some guests may even require a voucher to access the Extra Magic Hours, so even if you are staying at one of our participating Hotels, be sure to ask if you will need any special voucher at your hotel’s concierge desk.

If you choose to stay at a location outside of the Walt Disney World Resort or one of our participating hotels, you won’t have access to Extra Magic Hours. However, you can still enter the Theme Parks during regular operating hours. Be sure to check your My Disney Experience App for the most up to date Park Hours.

I hope that no matter where you decide to stay, you and your family will create many magical memories that will last a lifetime.
