Hi, Deborah! It's wonderful to have you back here at planDisney!
One of my favorite parts of planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is deciding which resort hotel I want to call my home away from home. There is truly something that I love about each and every
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, and I really don't think you can go wrong with either of the resort hotels that you have your choices narrowed down to. Both
Disney's Riviera Resort and
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are gorgeous places to stay!
I love the stylish European flair of Disney's Riviera Resort. This brand new property is filled with some beautiful artwork. From the intricate mosaic tile murals to the photographs of Walt Disney's travels throughout Europe, you could spend hours just wandering through the resort and admiring your surroundings. While Disney's Riviera Resort boasts stylish sophistication, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has Victorian elegance and charm. You cannot top the magical views of Cinderella Castle from Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Being able to take in that iconic sight as you stroll the grounds of your resort hotel is a quintessential Walt Disney World Resort experience. Since you will be visiting during the holiday season, I also must mention that the lobby of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is one of my favorite places to visit at Christmastime. Nothing brings me more holiday joy than the aroma of the
life-sized gingerbread house!
When it comes to dining, these two resort hotels have some delicious options. Some of my favorite breakfast spots are found in these two locations. At the
Grand Floridian Cafe, you can start your day with a unique mix of breakfast and lunch offerings. The Eggs Benedict and Lobster Thermidor Burger are Guest favorites. Disney's Riviera Resort is home to Breakfast a la Art with Mickey & Friends at
Topolino's Terrace. Here you can savor a mouthwatering breakfast in a spectacular rooftop setting while waving to some of your favorite Disney pals in their adorable artist-inspired outfits.
When it comes to selecting a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, I often make my selection based on location and transportation options. If your family plans to spend a lot of time at
Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa's convenient
monorail access might be appealing to you. If your favorite theme park is
EPCOT or
Disney's Hollywood Studios, you can travel from Disney's Riviera Resort to these locations using the
Disney Skyliner.
No matter where you choose to stay, I'm sure that your vacation will be practically perfect in every way!
Samantha
