    We are planning a trip in December to celebrate the end of my husband's chemo treatments. Our concern is we have no idea what level of assistance, if any, he might need in the parks & resorts. Where can we go or who can we contact to get more informati

    Hi Amanda ~

    Disney is the perfect place to celebrate any occasion including the end of your husband's chemotherapy treatments. ​The Disability Access Service Card (DAS) will assist your husband in the theme parks. It is designed to assist Guests who are unable to wait in a standard queue for a variety of medical reasons. He can request a DAS by going to Guest Relations at any of the theme parks. Here is some additional information regarding the details of how the DAS works. I've also included a list of Frequently Asked Questions about the DAS .

    It may help to rent a wheelchair for your husband. While he may feel fine first thing in the morning, the parks are huge and it may give him some relief and stamina to help him make it through the day more comfortably. Here is some additional information on wheelchair rentals in the parks. In case you decide to rent a wheelchair, here is some information regarding attractions for Guests with Mobility Disabilities including those that allow Guests to remain in their wheelchairs or ECVs, those that require Guests in ECVs to transfer to wheelchairs to board and those that require Guests to be mobile to enjoy.
