We are planning a trip in Dec 08. We are currently booked in the Beach Club, for the atmosphere and convience of location. Is there any other resort a little less expensive within walking distance or boat to MGM? BTW, we are a family of five from FL.

To arrive Hollywood Studios via boat, you should stay at the Yacht and Beach Club, Boardwalk Inn or Swan and Dolphin resorts.

In addition, these resorts are within walking distance to Hollywood Studios.

Depending on your vacation dates, I think you would be pleased to see some of the rates being offered at the Swan and Dolphin resorts. For example, a stay on December 17 at the Dolphin resort in a standard room has a limited time offer at $149 per night plus tax. I found this rate on Expedia. It's also being offered at www.swandolphin.com.

Since you live in Florida, it's likely that you'll have a vehicle with you. Consider booking a stay at a value or moderate resort and driving to Hollywood Studios. Again, depending on your actual dates, the rates are going for approximately $149 mid-week at a moderate resort  and $82 per night at a value resort.

For a deluxe hotel, proximity to Hollywood Studios and an enticing rate, check out the WDW Dolphin!
