Planning a trip for DD 5th birthday (12/6/12). I am trying to plan some special meals (character meals, dessert fireworks party, etc.). Wondering how far in advance they release the hours of operation (and extra magic hours for the parks) for day planing.

Oh Christopher, I can't imagine a better place for your daughter's fifth birthday celebration!  We took our son for his first trip to Walt Disney World at that age and we found that it was the perfect age for him to enjoy all the magic of this magnificent vacation destination.

I noticed today that the theme park hours of operation have just been released for November 2012.  That means that the December 2012 hours should be up in a month or less.  (They typically hit the Walt Disney World homepage about six months in advance).  Once you've got that information you can map out your itinerary and call (407) WDW-DINE to make your advance dining reservations (up to 180 days before your trip).  Let us know if you need suggestions for where to dine.  We love dining questions here at the Moms Panel.

Best wishes to you as you plan your trip and please wish your daughter a very happy birthday from the entire Moms Panel when her special day arrives.
