    We are planning a trip on DCL, destination=Bahamas. We would like to book a shore excursion but note a height requirement of 48" for a child to ride on a water slide. What happens if we book the event but by the time we go, the child is not at 48&qu

    Hi, Mary Beth! Congratulations on planning your family's vacation on Disney Cruise Line! This will be an unforgettable experience, and you're smart to consider shore excursions as far in advance as possible.

    Since you asked about water slides, I'm assuming that you're speaking of one of the Nassau Port Adventures which includes admission to the Aquaventure at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island. Most of the big slides do require a guest to be 48 inches or taller, but there is much to see and do without experiencing the most daring water slides. Splashers is a water-themed playground with slides, tubes, fountains, water wheels, rope bridges and a 320-gallon bucket which slowly fills with water and dumps on guests below. Plus, little ones can ride the Aquaventure river system with an adult, and they can visit The Dig -- a labyrinth of passageways to view underwater "ruins" filled with exotic sea creatures.

    Our family has visited the Atlantis Resort, and we simply took turns with the little ones as our bigger kids dared the plunges and rapids. Of course, the big kids enjoyed their little brother's areas almost as much as he did! Also, if you would like to cancel a Port Adventure, I recommend doing so as early as possible and no later than 3 days before you sail.
