We are planning a trip for 10 days with five (5) children (ages 5 years to 14 years old) and two (2) adults. What is the best resort/villa to stay with a group this large which allows ample space BUT also allows us to be close to attractions?

Hello Brad and welcome to the Moms Panel.

Walt Disney World has a great selection of rooms for 7 guests or more.
Your family will love to stay either at a Deluxe Resort or a Deluxe Villa Resort Hotel.
These not only offer the highest Disney standards, amenities and space, but are also the closest to the parks and attractions and feature some of the best dining experiences.
Choosing between these options will depend on budget, personal taste (theme) and location.
If you want to have a kitchen to prepare some meals, then the Villas might be a better option.

For my family Magic Kingdom is the most visited park (3 days out of 7 days on our last vacation), so the Contemporary Resort and the Bay Lake Tower are our first choices, since these are the only Resorts you can walk to the Magic Kingdom (around 15 minutes).  The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and the Polynesian Resort are also great options as they share the Monorail.
With the Monorail system these 3 Resorts also have convenient transportation to EPCOT.

For other families EPCOT and Hollywood Studios are the most visited parks, so the Boardwalk Inn or Villas, the Beach Club Resort or Villas or the Yacht Club Resort would be the best choices.  From any of these accommodations you can either take a boat or a 20 minute walk to both of these parks

Depending on the specific interests of your family you will know which of all these wonderful Resorts or Villas will be the best accommodation on your Disney vacation.

Please, let us know any other questions you may have on the planning process.

I hope you get to enjoy your planning process as much as we do.
