Hi, Kelli. Welcome to planDisney.
Planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation to celebrate your little one’s third birthday? What a magical milestone! There’s truly nothing like watching your child’s eyes light up as they see
Cinderella Castle for the very first time or give their favorite character a big birthday hug. You’re in for a trip filled with pixie dust, giggles, and unforgettable memories.
When it comes to
theme park tickets, the answer depends a bit on how you’ve booked your trip. If you’ve reserved a vacation package directly through Disney that includes both your
Disney Resort hotel and theme park tickets, you’re in luck! As long as your daughter is two years old at the time of check-in, she won’t need a park ticket—even if she turns three during your stay. Disney considers her two for the entirety of that reservation. However, if you’re purchasing theme park tickets separately (without a Disney Resort hotel stay), the rules are a bit different. In that case, once your daughter turns three, she will need her own valid park ticket for any visits that take place on or after her birthday.
Pro tip: Be sure to stop by
Guest Relations to pick up a complimentary “Happy Birthday” button for your daughter. It’s a sweet way to let Cast Members and characters know it’s her special day—you never know what extra magic might come her way!
I hope that's clarifying, Kelli. Thanks for choosing to be our Guest. See ya real soon!
