We are planning a trip for 9/1 - 9/6/2014 with our daughter (4 at time of travel). Trying to decide between AoA Little Mermaid and either a Std or Royal room at Port Orleans Riverside. Banking on Free meal plan offer - which one should we choose?

    Hi there Pam!

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.
Both Disney's Art of Animation Resort and Port Orleans Resort - Riverside are excellent choices to be considering. I've stayed at, and thoroughly enjoyed, them both in the past year. As far as the overall theming of the resort and room décor go, they're both likely to be very appealing to both your young daughter and to your family. It's the smaller differences between the two that may help you decide which is the better fit for your family.

It really boils down to what's most important to your family during your time spent at the resort itself.
An Art of Animation standard room (Little Mermaid section) will be set up with 2 Double Beds whilst a Royal Room at Port Orleans - Riverside will be equipped with 2 Queen size beds.

If you plan to spend some time relaxing poolside at your resort, these resorts have great pool areas. Both feature kiddie pools and Riverside also has a water slide. Art of Animation has the fabulous Big Blue Pool which is inspired by Finding Nemo and also features the Schoolyard Sprayground with pop-up jets and squirting, splashing fun for the little ones. Additionally, you'll find the Flippin' Fins Pool in the Little Mermaid section and the Cozy Cone Pool in the resort's Cars section.

Although both resorts have a plethora of amazing amenities that are sure to please you, my personal choice for a visit with a 4 year old would be Art of Animation. The larger than life characters from favourite Disney movies all around are sure to thrill her!

If you have additional questions, please feel free to write me back Pam. I'd love to hear from you again.

Wishing you a simply Magical time planning your visit to Walt Disney World!
