We are planning trip for cruise 8/2011 we plan to go to wdw a few days either before or after cruise, what do you suggest? what is the best and cheapest ways for transfers. they were booked separate.  DVC member

    Hi Shandy,

I love hearing from fellow Disney Vacation Club members!   The cruising before vs. after the theme park portion of your vacation is a common debate; I recently posted my opinion in another answer - you can read about it HERE.

Now if you opt to cruise first (which is my preference), this will cut down on your transportation costs.  You will need to purchase a one-way transfer from the port to your Walt Disney Resort, and this is approximately $35 per person.  From your WDW resort, you can utilize Disney's Magical Express for complimentary transportation back to Orlando International Airport.  If you were to cruise after your WDW stay, you would need to purchase the transfer to the port, as well as your transfer back to Orlando International Airport.

I hope this helps, good luck with your decision!
