we are planning a trip combining two families. the four children's ages range from 4 to 17 along with four parents. what water park would best suite our diverse ages and keep everyone happy?

hmmm..now thats a tough one..if the kids are all adventuresome, than I would say Typhoon Lagoon.  My kids loved the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon, and I must say, I never experienced a wave pool, quite like Typhoon Lagoons.  It is a true replication of the ocean, to the degree the waves break, and literally the kids and adults body surf into shore.  There are several slides as well.

If they don't like waves, then I would definately recommend Blizzard Beach.  There is an area that is just for kids.  There is a Zip line, although very short, the kids leave the platform and drop into the pool.  There are snowflakes under ropes, where the kids can balance and walk across.  The big kids can ride a ski lift to the top to the family slide and other big slides, although if your kids aren't tall enough, then the walk to the top of the slide commences, several flights of stairs.  You surely be worn out.

Both parks have towels for rent, and lockers.  You can also purchase a refillable drink cup, it works at both parks.  We always put our stuff near a drink station, so that when we need a refill, the kids can do it.  There is a bar code sticker that is read by the drink station machine, that allows you to continually fill your mug.  When you go to the other park, all you have to do is purchase the bar code sticker for your cup, and that is about half the cost of the cup.  Its great.  We cup share in our family, so we have one diet cup and one regular cup.  Hope you have a great trip!!
