We are planning a trip from 12/24/14 to 01/02/15 with children (12 yo/10 yo). First time during the Christmas/New Years season and wanted to get tips on what we should do and see that you normally don't have during the rest of the year.

    Hi, Tracey!

I'm glad you're planning a visit to the Disneyland Resort during the holidays. The seasonal decorations, events, merchandise, attractions and food items make The Happiest Place on Earth even more delightful!

You won’t want to miss the Haunted Mansion Holiday and “it’s a small world” Holiday attractions, and the "Believe...In Holiday Magic" fireworks show’s finale of snowfall on Main Street, U.S.A. is a must-see. On the “Holiday Time at Disneyland” Tour, you can hear holiday tales from Disneyland Park history, experience seasonal attractions and watch A Christmas Fantasy Parade from a reserved viewing area while enjoying a delicious treat and warm beverage! “World of Color—Winter Dreams” is a nighttime water spectacular at Disney California Adventure Park that brings holiday-themed animation to the popular show.

The Disneyland Resort theme parks will offer extra entertainment, like live performances, parades and special fireworks displays on New Year’s Eve. It’s best to arrive in the morning and pick one park to stay in since both parks will likely reach capacity. The most popular location to welcome the New Year is in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle (a great spot to view the “Ring in the New Year” fireworks spectacular), and the Rivers of America is another great place to be when the clock strikes midnight. If you’re in Disney California Adventure Park, a prime location is the World of Color viewing area overlooking Paradise Bay. Last year, Glow with the Show ear hats were synced to the countdown, providing extra special magic! Cast Members usually pass out noisemakers and hats, and you can also purchase New Year's-themed ear hats.

I hope this helps, Tracey. Please ask us more questions as you plan your pixie-dusted holiday vacation!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
