Hello! We are planning a trip with our 6 children ages from 13-4. We will be staying for 4 days and 3 nights tent camping in Fort Wilderness. Can we still get a food package? I can't find the dinning package without a resort package. And prices??

Hi Jami! You are heading to one of my favorite spots at Walt Disney World. Although I have given up the tent camping and we now own a motor coach I still love being in this Disney resort where the air is fresh and you wake up smelling the pine trees and hearing the birds sing. The tent camping areas are awesome too with great facilities and super clean bath houses.

Even though you are in a tent and not a resort room the entire Fort Wilderness campground gets the same benefits as any resort room on property. You can have packages sent back, you are given a "room" key to charge on and yes, you can get the dining plan added to your package stay.  You can get a quote for this type of package by going to www.disneyworld.com. When looking at the package resorts the Fort Wilderness campsites are listed last at the end of the list. It will give you the opportunity to add one of the dining plans and then give you the quote of the package. You can book on line or call the central reservation number, 407-934-7639.

Many guests who camp or have a motor coach often don't use the plan since they choose to cook their own meals at their site. Grills and tables are included in the sites but it does become a bit more difficult when you camp and don't have the privilege of having a refrigerator to store ingredients.

I know you will have such a great time...let me know if I can help with any more of your planning since I claim Fort Wilderness as my "home" resort at Walt Disney World!
