We were planning a trip to celebrate my son’s 3rd birthday in November 2024. Is it still true that if he turns 3 a couple days into our visit we don’t have to buy him a ticket? Will he will still be a guest of Mickey’s as you don’t age a Disneyland?

Hello, hello there, Jenasis! Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for stopping by with your question. I'm so happy to see you here!

I just spoke to a very friendly Cast Member who let me know that all Mouseketeers over the age of three must have a valid Theme Park ticket in order to enter the Disneyland Resort Theme Parks, regardless of their age at the start of the trip. Even though Cast Members are very unlikely to ask you about your little one's age at the entrance of the Theme Parks, you will still need to purchase a ticket for your birthday boy as soon as he turns three.

Jenasis, I don't know your son's exact birthday, but I'll give you an example! Let's say that he turns three four days into your vacation. He will be able to get in for free for the first three days, and he will need to have a ticket for the rest of your trip. You can purchase a ticket for him in advance of your trip, and you'll also be able to make his Theme Park reservations at that point.

Keep in mind that you'll need to add him to all your dining reservations after he turns three years old as well. Before then, he will be Mickey's Guest! I hope this helps, Jenasis. If you have any other questions before your trip, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. We're always available and more than happy to help! Have a magical day!

    Warm hugs,
