Greetings, Kelsie! I'm so glad you've come to see us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Let's see what's happening around the galaxy, shall we?
Did you sense a disturbance in the Force recently, Kelsie? As if millions of voices suddenly cried out? Well, you weren't mistaken! Disney has announced that the long-awaited
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios will begin welcoming Guests on August 29, 2019, causing fans everywhere to feel a rush of excitement! I can't wait to wander around Batuu and see what out-of-this-world fun awaits there.
As for the effect on crowd levels, to quote Master Yoda, “Difficult to see. Always in motion is the future.” However, if recent history is our guide, crowds were noticeably larger for quite some time after other major openings like Pandora - The World of Avatar and Toy Story Land. The level of interest in the new Star Wars offerings has been pretty intense, so I would imagine you'll see that reflected in the number of Guests making the pilgrimage to see them.
But you can still have a wonderful time at Walt Disney World during your fall visit, Kelsie! This is the time to use your planning tools like
FastPass+, advance dining reservations, and
My Disney Experience. Scheduling early days and midday breaks at your Resort hotel can help you navigate around the busiest times in the Theme Parks. Patience and planning will go a long way!
Kelsie, the galaxy awaits! I hope this helps you make the most of your Disney days. Please do stop by again if you have any more questions, and may the Force be with you. Always.
