We are planning a trip for the beginning of June 2015. We will have 3 kiddos, 11, 6 and 2 plus my mother in law. Looking at the Cars suites at Art of Animation. But a bit pricey. Any suggestions on ways to save or other resorts that have similar rooms?

    Hello Jennifer!
I can certainly understand budget concerns when traveling with a large family. When my children were younger and we needed to have accommodations for five or six we opted for two rooms at a value resort over a family suite. In fact, my children (now teenagers) still prefer Disney's Pop Century over any other resort at the Walt Disney World Resort.

When I did a quick price comparison, it appears that two rooms at the value resorts other than Disney's Art of Animation do indeed cost less than a family suite. However, there are pros and cons to both room types. When booking two value resort rooms you will have a total of four beds while the family suites at Disney's Art of Animation provide three. For my family, more beds win as my teens do not like to sleep together. But, the family suites have amazing theming, a nice sized table (which magically converts to a bed!), and a kitchenette which includes a microwave. Another plus for Disney's Art of Animation is the pool. The Big Blue Pool is actually the largest on Disney property.

With all that said, I personally will be traveling with a group of six soon, and we have opted for two rooms at a value over the family suites.  I hope this information is helpful as you make your decision. If you have more questions, come on back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We love to help.

    Have a magical day!
