Ahoy there, Elizabeth! It looks like you have an exciting adventure planned, so I’m glad you decided to sail by planDisney with your question before your trip this fall.
For smooth sailing, have your valid US passport on hand when you arrive at the port for check-in. US passengers leaving Florida for the Bahamas can also use a valid US passport card or an original valid Trusted Traveler Card. In place of a passport, you must present an original state-issued birth certificate and a physical government-issued photo ID. As long as your married name used on your cruise reservation matches your government ID (even if it’s not on your birth certificate), you do not need to bring your marriage certificate.
That being said, if you’re a spreadsheet-loving, color-coded calendar-keeping, file folder office management maven like me, you may find it helpful to travel with a copy of your marriage license just to be on the safe side. Honestly though, the process is truly streamlined with the
Online Check-In that you’ll complete before your cruise. And of course, you can always
call a helpful Disney Cruise Line Cast Member if you have any additional questions after completing that.
It’s also important to remember to keep all
travel documentation on you in a carry-on bag for embarkation. I also like to pack necessities like medications in that day bag, along with items that will help us start having fun right away, like swimsuits, sunscreen, and towel clips. For more tips, you can refer to this
cruise packing list.
It sounds like you’re dotting your i’s just like Mickey & Minnie Mouse, so I’m sure you’re going to have nothing but sunny skies and smooth seas ahead. And if any other questions come up before your vacation, we hope we’ll see ya real soon back here at
planDisney!
Embrace the magic,
Sami
