Hiya Charity,
Welcome to planDisney! As someone who has taken her little Mouseketeer multiple times to Walt Disney World Resort, this question warms my heart. We actually took our little one to celebrate her first birthday at Disney, and it was a magical time for all of us.
Charity, the nice thing about Walt Disney World Resort is that any attraction designated as “All Ages and “Any Height” is safe for your baby to ride. For the most toddler-friendly attractions, I recommend
Magic Kingdom Park! In my experience, variety is the best when bringing a one-year-old to Walt Disney World Resort. Even though an attraction is designated safe for littles, that doesn’t mean they will like it.
Haunted Mansion is one of my favorite attractions, and I was so excited that it was safe for my daughter to ride. Unfortunately, she loathed it the first time she rode it. Luckily, with so many other attractions at Magic Kingdom Park, we found a couple she loved, including Pirates of the Caribbean and
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.
From one mother to another, Charity, one thing that I always recommend for moms with littles is getting
Disney Genie+. Something about a toddler meltdown can make even the Most Magical Place on Earth seem less magical. Standing in long lines makes the situation harder. With Disney Genie+, you can reserve entrance to the Lighting Lanes, allowing you to bypass the standby line and shorten your wait time. While it is an additional cost, it is worth it when I visit with my 16-month-old.
I hope this was helpful, Charity. As you continue thinking through your baby’s first visit, please feel free to come back and see
me if you need anything. I’d love to share my tips and tricks for navigating the parks with a tiny Mouseketeer.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
