We are planning our trip from Australia in December. Looking at staying at Disneyworld from the 15th and flying to New York on the 23rd with two children (9 and 6). We like the look of the cabins at Fort Wilderness, just wanting your thoughts?

    Hi Belinda!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

My family and I absolutely love staying at the cabins at Fort Wilderness.  We like having the extra room and the grill on the deck.  We also like the rustic feel of the resort.  However, I normally do not recommend staying there unless you have a car or are willing to rent a golf cart to help get around.  That's because Fort Wilderness is huge requiring its own internal bus system.  To get somewhere you generally have to take the internal bus to a central location and then take an external bus to where you are trying to go (say Epcot for example); thus it can take a while to get along.  Having your own car to go all over Walt Disney World really helps.  After that, the golf cart really makes getting around Fort Wilderness easy.

I hope this helps!  Good luck with your decision and please write back with more questions!
