We are planning a trip in August this year. What are some ways that a plus size lady can stay cool? Thank you!

    Hi Cindy!

August is definitely a warm month to be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, but with the proper planning, you can keep cool!  I am really sensitive to both hot and cold temperatures, so I have to plan accordingly.  My first suggestion is to make sure to plan out your days as much as you can.  I have found that I get the hottest when I'm standing in line, so if I can keep moving from attraction to attraction, I tend to not notice the heat as much.  Make sure to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours and FastPass+ so that you can visit all of the attractions you want to experience without having to wait too long.  Also, plan to go to the parks in the early morning and later in the evening.  This way, during the hottest part of the day, you can either relax by the pool, or do what I do and take a power nap in your air-conditioned room!

I like to wear running shorts, a tank top, and a cool hat to the parks because they are made of breathable material, which helps to keep me cool (and doesn't really show sweat).  I also always bring a cooling towel.  These are great for those moments when there is no moving air, and you can't go into an attraction or store.  Not only are they light and easy to carry, but they also give you a bit of relief from the heat.

My last tip is one of my favorites: when you are feeling a little too warm, walk through some of the shops!  Not only do you get to browse, or in my case buy, some amazing goodies, but you also get to cool off in the air conditioning!

Have a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!
