Hello Christine! I'm so glad you brought your question to planDisney! Our family has also entered that transition phase of experiencing Disney with teenagers. Disney has definitely gone about planning for teenagers over the past several years.
When planning your days, start with your priorities. In the past, we scheduled two-days in Magic Kingdom Park and one day in each of the other parks. Now that we have teenage boys our priorities have changed. Two-days have to be spent in
Disney's Hollywood Studios! Our kids want to experience all that
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge has to offer - and there is so much there! Even though they are teenagers they have fond memories of Buzz and Woody and they really enjoy
Toy Story Land. That land is still very new to them with a good bit of nostalgia! I also have to recommend
Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway! This is the newest attraction in Disney's Hollywood Studios! While a great ride for young kids, it is really a great ride for the whole family! Our kids also enjoy the thrill rides at this park! We always have to experience the
Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith.
Your teenage kids might also enjoy
Disney Springs! The shopping district is very new and offers many teen-friendly stores and attractions, including the
NBA Experience! Your kids might really enjoy the hands-on interactive experiences offered there.
It sounds like your family, like ours, has grown-up with Disney! In the end, our family usually spends two-days at both Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios. We then spend one or two days at Disney's Animal Kingdom and EPCOT! We have found a growing appreciation for both of these parks as our children have grown into teenagers! Pandora: World of Avatar, Expedition Everest and Kilimanjaro Safaris are now must-do attractions for our family!
