I am planning a trip in August 2009 we would like to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge with a Savanna View. We are wondering if it smells bad? The last thing that we want is to wake up every morning of our honeymoon to bad smelling animals.

    Hi Ronald!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!  I can't think of a better place to celebrate than at Disney during it's 'What Will You Celebrate?" campaign!  If you are interested in surprising your soon to be spouse with a truly magical in-room celebration, check out www.DisneyWorldFlorist.com.  Some of it's romantic selections are truly amazing.  (Take it from a real sap!)  The Animal Kingdom Lodge is a wonderful choice for your honeymoon.  It's the perfect balance between a theme park adventure and romantic "stint" in an exotic African-themed resort.

I've had a savanna view room two times, and am going back in August of this year as well (don't worry, I won't let my kids bother you and your new bride!)  You can also rest assured that you don't need to pack clothes pins for your noses (even if they sell really cute bride and groom ones!)  The animals roam on huge, savannas that resemble their African habitats.  You aren't actually that close to them, and you will be at Disney (which is known for its attention to detail and customer service.)  I can assure you that if complaints about the animals "perfume" were made by guests, they would be addressed.

All kidding aside, you don't have to worry about anything other than which of the many fabulous restaurants at Disney to chose to share your first meals as a married couple!  (I'd recommend Jiko at your resort, it's fabulous and has an amazing wine list!)

    Happy Honeymoon!
