We are planning a trip in August for my son's first birthday and my niece's 8th. I was wondering if there was anything special we could request/do regarding birthdays? Thank you.

Hi Lauren! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Celebrations are always magical at the Walt Disney World Resort. I am glad to hear you are planning to celebrate your son and niece’s birthdays at the happiest place on Earth. How exciting!
For kids, I highly recommend a Character Dining Experience for starting off this unforgettable day. Chef Mickey’s can be a great surprise for them. Located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, this happy place offers an amazing encounter with Mickey Mouse and some of his pals. If you prefer an alternative inside a theme park, Tusker House Restaurant, at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, would be perfect. While you dine, you will have a fabulous moment with Donald Duck and some of his friends for photos. They will be wearing their cute safari outfits. Dining reservations are strongly recommended and can be made up to 180 days prior to your visit.
You can also order a special birthday cake to be delivered to the restaurant of your preference. There are many sizes and shapes for you to choose from, or you can even order one customized just for them. I am sure they will have a wonderful time!
Hope this information helps your planning. Please, let us know if you have further questions.
    Have a magical celebration!
