We are planning a trip in August 2014:-) We will have grandma, hubby, me, our 2 year old daughter and 7 year old son. What places do you reccomend to eat at? We are staying on property at Port Orleans Riverside and also have the dining plan. Thank you!

    Hi Michelle,

So glad to hear you have begun your planning and are considering your dining options. It is always good to get a good head start so that you can get as many advanced dining reservations as possible so that you don't miss out on anything. So, let's get started. Here are a few of my family's favorites. I have similar aged kids, so hopefully your family can enjoy many of the same ones as we do.

    • We eat at Biergarten in Germany at Epcot each and every family trip. It has become quite the tradition for us. My husband likes the beer and brats, I enjoy the delicious buffet and the kids always have a great time watching the bavarian musicians and dancing. It is a fantastic and unique dining experience.
    • Play 'n' Dine at Hollywood & Vine is the perfect character meal for little ones, especially if they love the shows on Disney Junior. Doc McStuffins and Sofia the First just recently joined the character line up.
    • Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom is one of the most sought after dining reservations as of late. It may be tough to get a dinner reservation, but lunch is not table service, rather it is quick service with a little added flair!
    • Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is a really fun place. You dine in a "car" as you watch classic sci-fi clips.
    • Some quick-service places that offer nice variety are Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom, Flame Tree Barbecue in Disney's Animal Kingdom, and Sunset Ranch Market in Disney's Hollywood Studios
    • You absolutely must try the beignets at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory (food court) at Port Orleans French Quarter at least once during your visit for breakfast. They are oh-so scrumptious. My mouth is watering now just thinking about them.

I hope this offers some fun and exciting options for you to choose from. Have a wonderful vacation!
