Planning on a trip April 17-25, 2012. Trying to figure if DDP is a good deal. What is the average daily price p.person breakdown for ea. of the plans. 3 adults, 1 child. thanks,

    Hi Judy,

I wish I could give you a straight answer on the value of the dining plan, but there are so many variables:  do you want appetizers? do you want dessert? do you want wine/beer/cocktail? do you want snacks throughout the day? etc.  I can share with you that when we did the dining plan this summer, we kept meticulous records and found that we saved several hundred dollars. However, I had printed menus (most of the table service menus are available under "Where to Eat" at the WDW website or at www.allearsnet.com) of the restaurants prior to our arrival and each family member had to make a pretend order.  From that I calculated the dollar amount to decide which restaurants we would get the best deal for our dollar.

I'd encourage you to explore other guests' experiences with the dining plan.  If you visit www.allearsnet.com and do a search for "Disney Dining Plan Reviews," you'll run across over 600 reviews that I think will provide you with more insight to make a more educated decision to know if the plan works for your family.

The approximate cost of the three most popular plans are as follows (subject to change); the price is per person, per night:

Quick Service Plan:  $35 for guests 10+; $12 for guests 3-9
Standard Dining Plan:  $48 for guests 10+; $13 for guests 3-9
Deluxe Dining Plan:  $79 for guests 10+; $22 for guests 3-9

To read more specifics about each of the plans, you can find the information under "Where to Eat" at the WDW website (technical problems are keep me from providing you a direct link; I'm sorry).

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel; please let us know if we can help again.
