Hi Cecilia,
Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! Congratulations on your upcoming bundle of joy! I think revealing the gender of your baby while you’re visiting Walt Disney World Resort is such a fun idea. There are a lot of ways you can make your special announcement in the theme parks, and even some locations you may not have considered.
My top recommendation for your surprise is to reserve a
Capture Your Moment PhotoPass session. These sessions are available in any theme park, and when you meet with your PhotoPass photographer, you can tell them that you plan on doing a gender reveal. They have signs and props available to give you those perfect pictures. My family has done a few Capture Your Moment sessions at Magic Kingdom Park, and we like to let the PhotoPass photographer guide us through poses and locations.
One suggestion I have is to go into a merchandise location and purchase a onesie for a little boy or girl. If this is also a surprise to you, perhaps get someone to write the gender on a piece of paper and pick out pink and blue onesies and ask the Cast Member at the register to put the coordinating color in your shopping. Then, take that bag to Cinderella Castle and reveal the onesie together to find out if you’ll be having a princess or pirate! Another location option would be to take the mystery outfit to meet with
Mickey in the Town Square Theater. You can get Mickey’s reaction when you unwrap your onesie!
Another idea that I really like is to purchase a pink or blue Mickey balloon on Main Street, U.S.A. Then, find the
Super Zoom Magic Shot location in the hub in front of Cinderella Castle. You’ll get a great video that starts out with a close in shot of you with your Mickey balloon, then zooms out to show Cinderella Castle. You can download this video and share it with your family and friends.
If you’re looking for something more extravagant, consider reaching out to
Disney Meetings & Events to help create an event fit for a prince or princess. These Cast Members can help you plan a special event in spaces throughout Walt Disney World Resort!
I hope I’ve given you some fun ideas for your gender reveal, Cecilia. I’ll be
here at planDisney if you have any future planning questions!
The only thing left is to make it pink! No, make it blue!
