We are planning a trip for April. We have been there before but never done dining plan. I was wondering if you think its really worth it. I have 2 adults and 2 children(ages 5 and 2). It seems like it would be confusing to keep track of? Is it worth the $

Hi Dana!  Our family is one that does not use the dining plan for the reason you mentioned.  We do not care to be on vacation and checking on our credits and seeing if we should be buying a snack or not to buy.  I also don't like the idea of ending a vacation with 14 snack credits that must be used and having to buy something just to take home that I don't want to begin with.  We like to dine when and where and as often as we want without having to keep track.

Another concern many families have is that if they add on the dining plan fairly close to their arrival date then they find they often can't get reservations to the places they want to dine at or are included in the dining plan.

A Disney friend has done the calculations and it is believed to be a savings for families when they use the dining plan.  If you are on a strict and tight budget it is something to consider.  Many families also like the idea that their vacation is literally paid for before they arrive and they don't have to worry about extra spending money except for souvenirs and recreation.
