planning trip April 1-7. Have 2 boys 10&3. What would be the place to stay to get the most out of vacation. Also, need help choosing dining plan. HELP.

Hi Dawn! Choosing the best resort for your family while at Walt Disney World can be fun as there are so many great choices. The main consideration is your budget as there are three levels of resorts. In the Value category my favorites are the Art of Animation with the family suites or the Pop Century for a regular type room.  In the moderate category my favorite is the Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter. Love the location and the proximity to Downtown Disney.  All of the deluxe resorts are wonderful and it just depends on the location you like. Boardwalk, Beach Club and Yacht Club are all within walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian and Grand Floridian are in the Magic Kingdom ring. Then you have the Animal Kingdom Lodge which is so unique and it is obviously close to the Animal Kingdom park. Your budget will determine which level is best for you. For the best pool facility on the property you would need to consider either the Yacht Club or Beach Club as they share a pool facility only open to those resort guests. It is huge with sandy bottom, lazy river, and of course the themed slide.

I usually hesitate to recommend anything more then the basic dining plan to young families. There are so many great quick service choices in the parks and resorts that having one table service meal a day is fine. If you choose to do a few character or signature dining reservations that require more then one credit then you can decide to upgrade your plan to the next level or simply pay out of pocket for those meals. Just booking the quick service option is not enough and I think it is good to have at least one sit down meal a day to relax and converse about all the magic that has happened!

No matter where you stay or where you eat you will find a magical vacation with your two boys. Your countdown has started and April will be here before you know it!
