Planning a trip for 7 adults - 2 young children - (groups would be 2 adult/2child, 2 adults, 3 adults) wondering what the best reservations would be for resorts - 3 separate rooms? a suite and a room? a villa? we would like kitchen (kitchenette)

    Hi Robin,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question!

Robin, you’re definitely thinking about the process the right way! There are so many options to choose from, it truly depends on your preferences and what the group wants to get out of the stay.

For suites, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort comes to mind. These Resort suites are themed to The Lion King, Cars, and Finding Nemo, so staying in one of the suites would really be exciting for the kids on the trip. The suite is pretty spacious as well and has one Queen bed, 1 Double-Size bed that pulls down, and 1 Double-Size sofa bed. In total, the suite sleeps six adults and it has a kitchenette. Two suites side-by-side could be a great option for your party if you want to spread out.

When it comes to villas there are many options as well. Depending on your desired theme, you could stay at hotels like Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas, Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, or The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. I think the big thing to consider with the villas is if you’d like your entire party to stay in the same space or would you rather be in two separate rooms. For example, the Grand Floridian has a Two Bedroom Villa that sleeps up to nine adults with a full kitchen. Your entire party could stay in one of these rooms together. If you'd rather spread out, you could stay in a One Bedroom Villa and a separate (non-villa) room.

While you’re deciding, I think you should connect with your party and weigh all your options. The big items to discuss are: do you want to be in the same room, size of the kitchen, proximity to specific Theme Parks, and theme of the room. When you have answers to those items, you’ll have the best option for your group’s trip!
