Planning 2010 trip with 2 adults and 3 kids (5,8,12). Have to plan around school breaks. What are trade off's of going wk of Easter or Mid June? Fig Easter would be cooler but heavy crowd, June hotter but less crowded? Which would you choose?

    Amanda:

As much as I hate the heat, crowds make me hot under the collar....and the week between Palm Sunday and Easter is one of the largest for attendance!

If it were me, I'd opt for June.

To beat the heat, here are a few suggestions:
    • Bring a few personal fans (Disney even sells a water bottle with a fan on it!)'
    • Pack lightly-fighting clothes and caps/visors to cover your head
    • Tote and apply sunscreen (you'd be surprised how quickly your shoulders and ears can get sunburned under the Florida sun).
    • Consider spending afternoons at your resort's pool.
    • If you stay in the park in the hottest heat of the afternoon, choose inside attractions where air-conditioning is a respite.
    • Take advantage of the park's Evening Magic Hours.
    • And always stay hydrated.  You can get ice water for free from Disney's counter-service restaurants.

    Wishing y'all a magical--and cool--vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
