I am planning a trip for 6 adults and 2 kids under 10...is the best way to get the kids their mobile tickets a magic band? Do I purchase them and link them once the tickets are bought? I just want to make sure i know how to best deal w their tickets.

    Hi Chelsea, welcome to planDisney!

Your elite eight are going to have a great time experiencing the magic of Walt Disney World Resort together. A few of the attractions with no height restriction that you can experience on one ride vehicle include Pirates of the Caribbean in Magic Kingdom Park and Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway in Disney's Hollywood Studios. Pirates of the Caribbean includes an attraction photo; tell everyone to look left and smile at the skull and crossbones just before the drop.

With valid admission linked to a My Disney Experience account or account profile, there are three ways to tap into the magic around the theme parks: MagicBand/MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, and admission card. My kids often use all three interchangeably on our vacations, so allow me to share some information about each that will help you make the best decision for your party.

MagicBand+ designs purchased on shopDisney or at a retail location on Disney property must be linked to a child's My Disney Experience account profile. This can be done before or after their tickets are linked. You'll find the largest selection of MagicBand+ designs in the parks or at Disney Springs (Disney Pin Traders has a great selection), just keep in mind that MagicBand+ must also be paired to a mobile device and fully charged before use. My kids have never liked wearing things on their wrist and I often end up clipping their MagicBands to my backpack by the end of the day.

You can use the My Disney Experience mobile app to download Disney MagicMobile passes for the children after their tickets are linked in My Disney Experience. Only the manager of the children's My Disney Experience account profiles can download their MagicMobile passes, though MagicMobile passes can be shared via iMessage with other eligible iPhones. Disney MagicMobile passes are a convenient option for the adults in your party, though kids often miss being able to tap into the magic at theme park entry, at Lightning Lane entrances, and with Disney PhotoPass photographers themselves.

When you purchase Walt Disney World Resort theme park tickets online, you can click "See more delivery options" during the purchase process to have admission cards for everyone in your party sent to your home. Your tickets will still be linked to your party's My Disney Experience accounts, which means you can still download Disney MagicMobile passes and connect with linked MagicBands. Admission cards can also be obtained at any theme park ticket window. Be prepared to show the ticket email confirmation, the form of payment, and a valid photo ID. Admission cards feature fun character designs that kids love. My son likes to use a retractable badge holder for his, which gives him the independence we both crave in the parks.

I hope I've illustrated how any of the three methods of entry can work for the children in your party, Chelsea. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly with any follow-up questions.

    Plan magic; planDisney.
