Hey there Taylor and welcome to planDisney!
From one Taylor with a large travel party to the next, let me just say that I'm so happy to be helping you with your planning today. 8 adults, 3 kids, and 2 under 2 will make for 13 times the fun at the
Walt Disney World Resort. My next travel party is just a "tiny" group of 10 so I definitely understand your struggle. Let me help you out with a few Taylor Travel Guide Tips to traveling big at
The Most Magical Place on Earth.
The maximum room capacity for
Disney Resorts Collection hotels is 12 people so you will need to create at least 2 vacation packages. There are some
Villas in the Disney Deluxe Resorts that are 2-3 bedrooms and can hold 8-9 adults. There are also
Family Suites at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, a Disney Value Resort, that can sleep up to 6 adults to fit as many of your party in one space at a time as possible. You could try some combinations of those and Standard Rooms to try to accommodate your party. Y'all will ultimately have to decide how you all will be most comfortable.
To keep things pretty simple, this is what has worked out for my family. We preferred to have a little more separation for everyone's sanity and to keep the trip magical. We've split into 3 rooms broken down for everyone's comfort. One with a party of 5, one with a party of 3, and one with a party of 2. Each room group created a vacation package consisting of a room and
Theme Park Tickets. Once each room group had their packages all booked, we then connected in the
My Disney Experience app via the Family & Friends list. To connect, just tap the three-lined icon at the bottom of the screen, tap My Profile, and Show My Linking Code. You can scan each other's QR Codes or exchange Manual Codes and enter them. Now everyone gets a little space but experiences can still be planned together.
Pro-tip: When choosing your Tickets, remember that the 2 smallest members of your party don't need them. They are Mickey Mouse's personal Guests and are free because they are 2 years old or under.
Taylor, I hope I've been able to help you today. Fingers crossed that the Christmas decorations will be up in time for your visit. If you have any other questions about how to corral this big ol' group you've got,
come back to see me for another chat!
Happy planning!
