I am planning on traveling to WWW with a child who will be 10 months old at the time of our trip. What special things should we not miss or plan to do while there to make the trip magical for our child as well as ourselves?”
Hi, Jennifer!
Be sure to visit the Baby Care Centers, which are located in each of the four main parks, to utilize their changing tables, private nursing room, high chairs and even an on-site shop for those items you forgot to bring (diapers, baby food, etc.) We lots of quiet, relaxing time in those centers on that first trip, and I remember being so impressed that everything I needed was right there.
Next, go onto Walt Disney World's website and enter "traveling with little ones" into the search bar. The first item on the list is a fantastic post that answers questions you haven't even thought of yet. Read through the main post, then click on the Planning Resources, too, to help better prepare for your trip to WDW.
Finally, I'd book a character meal or two at The Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom, with Pooh and Friends, and / or Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Both of these buffet restaurants will provide the adults with excellent food, a beautiful location to sit down and rest as well as the luxury of having your food immediately available...no waiting with an impatient baby who can smell food, is hungry and just can't help but complain about not sampling any. PLUS, at that age, you'll get some fantastic photos of your baby interacting with the classic characters. These are moments that I have captured on film and am so grateful that I do; the little ones grow up so quickly!
If you really want a special night out, you can arrange for In-Room Babysitting, too, so that your little one can play or doze safely in your room, supervised by a qualified babysitter from independent childcare provider Kid's Nite Out, while Mommy and Daddy enjoy an elegant, relaxing dinner at a nearby park or resort restaurant. Call (407) 828-0920 for more information.
Send more questions as you think of them, Jennifer! We love to help Guests plan a magical stay at Walt Disney World!
