We am planning on traveling late 2015 for my daughters 3rd birthday. There will be 4 adults and 3 children total. The children with be 17 yrs old and two 2 yr olds. Can you suggest an onsite resort that could accommodate all of us at a reasonable price?

    Hi Kristen!

It's great you're getting a head start on planning a birthday celebration for your Walt Disney World vacation! My family is a party of 7, so we have tried many options for larger families. I'll give you my favorite options, and then I suggest pricing them out on Walt Disney World's website to get a better idea what would accommodate your budget.

My favorites are the 2-bedroom-villas at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. The villas are more expensive, but I love the added space, the full kitchen, and the washer and dryer in my room. The Animal Kingdom Lodge is beautiful and breathtaking. Your family will love the zero-depth-entry pools for little ones, and water slides for teenagers and adventurous adults, too. The restaurants are some of my favorites on all of Walt Disney World property.

I would also suggest The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. This is my kind of "camping!" Spacious cabins with Housekeeping who come and wash your dishes for you sounds wonderful to me. These offer more amenities and space than the Value Resort suites, which I think you would need due to the number of adults in your party. The cabins are for a party of 6, but they can accommodate 7 if at least one child is under the age of 3.

My family has also booked two rooms at a Value Resort or Moderate Resort. Our favorite Value Resort is Disney's Pop Century Resort and our favorite Moderate is Disney's Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter. We like this option when we are really on a budget. We experience a lot more togetherness, but we also spend a lot of time in the theme parks. Then we usually come back to shower, sleep and enjoy pool time during the day.

In all honesty, my children love all of these options and simply enjoy the time we spend together as a family at the Most Magical Place on Earth.  With so much to offer, we always have fun! Good luck with planning and please come back if you have any more questions!
