We're planning on traveling on the Dream in July. Given we have to wait until March to make our reservations, once we have paid are there some ship reservations that need to be made quickly to get the most out of our cruise?

    Ahoy Paula –

I am so excited that you will be sailing on the Dream this summer, and how awesome that you are planning your trip now! The absolute best tip that I can give any cruiser is to plan, plan, plan before the reservation window opens.  Now is the time to peruse the Port Adventures and decide what excursions your pirate crew would enjoy.  I normally pick 1-2 per port just in case my first choice is already booked, or if the available time is not good, then I can use my number 2 choice. Decide now if you would like to dine at Palo or Remy and pick which nights you want to check for reservations. If getting a cabana at Castaway Cay is your dream, then set your clock for 12:00AM Eastern so you can jump on and grab it. In fact, that is the first thing I do every time (and still haven’t snagged one – but I have faith, trust, and pixie dust). Pirate parents with sea pups under the age of 3 should definitely block off nursery time early to get the best availability. Go ahead and choose your port arrival time so that you can get the earliest boarding time to the ship possible (if you care about early boarding). My crew wants to be the first sailors on deck on embarkation day! There are other things that can be booked in advance (Sports Simulator, Senses Spa, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique) but I usually add these on later. Use your judgement based on what is important to your pirate crew. Paula, thanks for asking such a great question, and we are so happy that you came back to visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
