Planning to travel to WDW from the UK in June/July 2026. We're a party of 6, 5 adults and 1 child (age 11). We're debating our options for affordability, 6 person family suite or 2 standard rooms (probably still at a value resort). Any advice?

    Hi Jenna! Welcome to planDisney!

I'm excited to hear you're planning a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort next year! With bookings now available for 2026, getting a head start is the perfect idea. Let's discuss some options you have for your stay at one of the magical Disney Resorts hotels.

With a family of six Guests, you'll have a few options available when deciding where to stay. If you're planning on one of the Value Resorts at Walt Disney World, two offer Family Suites that sleep up to six. While many are familiar with Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Disney's All-Star Music Resort also has some of these room types available. These resort rooms feel a bit more like a one-bedroom suite, with there being a common area that flows into a bedroom. They do offer two bathrooms, which will come in handy with a large group. One thing that stands out at Art of Animation is the incredible theming inside the rooms. Depending on which area of the resort you are located in, the interior of the rooms will match the theming of the section you are in.

Your other option is two traditional rooms that sleep up to four Guests each. By choosing this option, you'll have a few more resorts to choose from in this category. Disney's Pop Century Resort is a popular choice and sits within walking distance of Art of Animation. Most of these types of rooms will come with either two queen beds or a queen bed mixed with a queen-sized table bed. There are connecting rooms available at each of the Value Resorts, which means you will have an interior door that you can open that connects the two rooms. You may request connecting rooms after confirming your reservation, but these requests are not guaranteed. The Cast Member assigning rooms will do their best to accommodate.

After reviewing your options, if being close together is a priority, then I would choose a Family Suite for your stay. You'll be able to share a space with your group and have more time to spend together. If more traditional beds and sleeping arrangements are important, then choosing two standard rooms may be your best bet. You'll have four queen-sized beds to split between six Guests, which is more sleeping surfaces than the Family Suite will offer.

Jenna, if you're planning to spend a lot of time at EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios, I would narrow down your selection to one of the resorts that sit along the Disney Skyliner. Access to these two parks is incredibly easy and helps cut down on travel time.

I hope this information helps you plan for your stay! Stop back and see us again at planDisney!

    Happy planning!
