I am planning to travel to Disney world on 12/2017 and would like to know if there are any resorts that are hanicap friendly. I am traveling with my mom that is wheelchair bound. Are there any bathrooms at a resort that have easy handicap access?

Hi Lorraine! My mother absolutely loved Walt Disney World and in her later years I had to make sure she was as comfortable as possible when we made our annual trek.

All of the Disney Resorts will have handicap rooms. This includes the cabins at Fort Wilderness too. Please refer to this link for Walt Disney World services for guests with disabilities. It will be very helpful as you plan the trip with your mom. You can see where to get assistance for wheelchair rentals or which attractions will allow your mom to remain in her chair versus having to move from it to get into a ride vehicle. It is an excellent source for all guests with any sort of disability.

The resorts will have handicap rooms which might offer walk in showers and lower sinks for wheelchair bound guests. If you find that you might need toilet rails you can ask for this but some things will need to be rented through an off site company who will deliver the items to the resort for you during your stay. It is best to call the resort that you have reserved and discuss what items you might need to get on your own.

Hope this helps with your planning and I know you will have as magical a time as I did for many years with my mother. Those memories are priceless.
