I am planning our third (YAY!!) vacation for Dec 5-10. Staying at Art of Animation Dec 5-7, the Contemporary 7-10. How should I go about getting the park tickets? Should I do a 3-day and a 3-day, or a 3-day and a 4-day? HELP!!!!

    Hi, Amanda!

I love traveling to WDW in December! It is my favorite time of year with all the beautiful decorations and holiday festivities.

I think the least expensive thing for you to do as far as tickets would be to purchase a 6 day ticket, adding on Park Hopper option if you plan to visit more than one park per day.  The more days you buy on your ticket, the cheaper it gets per day.  A base ticket (without the No Expiration option) is good for 14 days after its first use so your ticket would be valid for your entire stay.

Here is where you MAY have a problem:  Are you planning to add on the Disney Dining Plan?  If so, you will need to purchase 2 packages, one for each leg of your vacation.  The Dining Plan can only be added to your reservation if you have included room/tickets/dining as a complete set.

There is another option I can throw at you: adding on Dining for the first half of your vacation buying a 6 day ticket then book a "room only" reservation for Grand Floridian.  Your park  tickets will still be valid, but your dining credits will expire at midnight on December 7.  You would need to pay "out of pocket" for meals for the remainder of your vacation.

Gosh, have I made things worse and even more confusing?  Let me know if any of these options sound good to you or if you want some other ideas on how to make this work!  You have a great vacation planned, just need to work out a few details.  Good luck!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
