We are planning to tent camp at Disney World's campground in Oct 2011. How far in advance do sites fill up? Also, regarding the campfires, are they crowded? Will my daughter get much chance to interact with Chip and Dale, roast marshmallows, etc.?

Hi Christine!  You are coming to one of my new favorite places to be at Walt Disney World!  We started staying in the cabins a couple of years ago and now are the proud owners of a large motor home so we can stay longer and bring our little dog!

We book our reservation as soon as we know our plans which can be anywhere from a year out to six months out.  The sooner you know the better it is to book the reservation so you won't be disappointed.  Sometimes we have had to tweak the dates since things can change but we at least have the core time reserved.

Chip and Dale's Campfire Singalong is a lot of fun. Chip and Dale actually walk through all the guests who are there so you will have a personal chance for getting a photograph and autographs etc. It didn't seem rushed and the hardest part is to keep the kids from getting over excited and running up to them before it is their turn!  There are several spots to roast the marshmallows. Since it is a fire pit I recommend you escort your daughter and help her with this task.  It doesn't take long for a marshmallow to brown and it is good to have an adult there to assist in case it gets a bit too brown and starts on fire!  We like to bring our own marshmallow sticks and chocolate and graham crackers....it seems easier then waiting to buy that there.  I also suggest you throw in some moist towelettes for when you are finished or you will find everything sticky for the evening.

Live entertainment is included and dancing and all of that is followed by a Disney movie. It's a fun night....use bug spray before you go although Disney does try to keep that under control.  Have fun!
