We are planning on a tending our first Mickeys not so scary Halloween Party. Does everyone dress up? My husband is unsure about the cost of it, so you think it’s worth it? What all is open during the party? Thanks!

    Boo-to-You Katie!

So glad that you brought this frightfully delightful question to us!

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party brings out the hallowed haunting in all of us. Although everyone may not dress up, many, many people do. And lots of folks make it a collective affair - one year some of my friends and I went as the 101 Dalmatians. Since it is a special ticketed event, you will need to purchase a party ticket. I absolutely think it is worth the cost - from the treats to the special characters and Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade, I loved every minute of the last party I attended! Since I always operate on a budget, I did not purchase a separate park ticket for that day. I only went to the park for the Halloween Party.

As you plan your costume, be sure to review the costume guidelines! Start following the Disney Parks Blog to see other party details for the time you plan to visit - this recent article, Available Now: Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Tickets, lists the upcoming party dates as well. Know also that only select dining will be available so review the Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Dining options prior to your visit. I strongly encourage you to make advanced dining reservations if you would like to dine at one of the participating table-service restaurants open during the party. Other people forego the table-service dining because they have too much to see and do during the party. I encourage you to do what is best for your husband and you!

Although available attractions can change from year-to-year, check out the list of what was open for the 2019 party dates. And if you have a taste for history, take a few minutes to read about the evolution of Happy Haunts and Grinning Ghosts: Halloween at the Disney Parks. With the expansion of dates, you now have a variety of options for your visit, so I suggest checking the ticket prices for different dates and choose the one that is most affordable and that fits with the time frame you want to visit.

Katie, remember to take some Not-So-Scary Disney PhotoPass photos! I trust you will have a frightfully spooktacular time!

    Haunt on,
    Donyell
