I am planning on taking my then 5 year old and 3 year old daughters to Disney World for a girls only vacation, sometime in February or March of 2011. When should I really start booking the trip, and making reservations for the character meals?

Hi Lisa!  First of all, you are a very smart lady to begin planning your trip so far in advance. You may actually begin to plan your trip on the Disney website www.disney.com. Click the Parks tab and create a log in under the My Vacation tab. My Vacation is a useful tool that will help you in your planning process. Once you have booked your trip, the site will count down the days until the day of your trip! You may actually book your trip 365 days in advance, pay a small deposit and make payments up to six weeks prior to your arrival! (I love that part!) You can also plan your daily itinerary here and keep track of all of your dining reservations.

Speaking of dining, you may make reservations up to 180 days prior to the day you are planning to dine at a particular restaurant. The characters meals are a very magical part of the Disney experience and they fill up fast! Plan to make those reservations 180 days in advance!! One last tip, If your daughters would love to be transformed into princesses for the day, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique either at Cinderella's Castle at The Magic Kingdom or the location in Downtown Disney will be a must do for you and your girls!
