Hi Jeff,
Not only is bringing your own princess costume not cheesy, it's quite common, and a great way to save money for other special experiences (character dinners, souvenirs, dinner shows, etc.) at Disney. Many "princesses-in-training" either come dressed in, or change into their own costumes when they get made over. As for whether the costumes are "worth" the price, I will say that they are well-made and quite durable as far as children's costumes are concerned. If you chose to purchase one, your daughter will be able to wear it for Halloween, dress-up parties, etc., and it will wear well. Whichever option you chose, I hope your daughter has a magical transformation! Tanya
