Planning taking a VIP tour with my family and wondering what rides have a special backstage access. We’ve been on almost every Disney ride throughout the years, this VIP tour would be to not only enjoy the rides we love, but also for a special experience.

    Hiya Jacqueline,

Welcome to planDisney! I was so very fortunate to do a VIP Tour this past summer at Disneyland Resort, and since then, I have been saving up to do one at Walt Disney World Resort! As someone who visits the theme parks often, I was impressed by the experience and felt special from start to finish.

Speaking of feeling like a VIP, Jacqueline, thank you for your question. I can understand, as a veteran Guest wanting to make sure that the experience is a special one. I agree with you: being able to enjoy your favorite attractions is a plus, but it's the little extra magic that makes a VIP Tour a bucket-list item. I went ahead and spoke to a super helpful Cast Member in VIP Tours, and they told me that the goal of the VIP Tour is to provide Guests with as expedited access as possible to attractions to ensure you have the best day ever. This means that, depending on demand, you may use alternative entrances or you may use Lighting Lane entrances. It is all entirely dependent on what will help you to maximize your tour time. For that reason, there is no specific list that I can share about which attractions might use a special “backstage entrance” and which do not. This is one of those elements of magic that will just be a moment of surprise and delight while on the tour.

I hope this was helpful, Jacqueline. Before I let you go, let me leave you with a tip. When you make your initial reservation for a VIP Tour, you will be asked about your wish list. Since you are a seasoned Guest this is a great time to tell them not only about your top favorites but also to request more special experiences. When I made my reservation for a VIP Tour, I told them that we really wanted to leave room for surprises and things we don’t normally do when we visit. I, of course, told them about our favorite things to do, but I also said that we wanted the guide to show us the hidden details and historical facts. It ended up being a perfect tour for us and has made me quick to book another. I hope that you have an incredible VIP Tour with your family, and please, if you need anything else, come back and see us.

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
