I am planning on taking my son's to WDW in October to celebrate the 5th anniversary of their adoption being finalized. What is the weather generally like and when is the best time to eat at O'hanas? Thank you!

Hello Lynn!  Thank you for asking me your question here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I love going to Walt Disney World in October.  Kids are in school so the crowds are lower, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is going on select nights, the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is up and running,  and the temperatures are still warm but not brutally hot.  The average temperature at Walt Disney World in October is in the mid 80's.  It is still warm enough to swim which is a treat at that point in the year!  October is a fabulous time to visit Walt Disney World.

'Ohana is my favorite restaurant at Walt Disney World.  We have eaten there so much over the years the wait staff practically knows us by name!  My favorite time to dine is an hour before the nighttime fireworks over Magic Kingdom start, usually at 8 o'clock.  Our meal normally takes a little over an hour so about the time we are starting dessert the lights dim in the restaurant and the music from Wishes nighttime spectacular gets piped in.  We end our meal with a fabulous dessert and a perfect viewing spot for the fireworks.  When we make reservation we always ask for a window seat and then ask again when we check in at the restaurant.  It is not a guarantee but they try their best to accommodate.  If this dining time interests you, you will need to find out what time the fireworks over Magic Kingdom begin and make your reservations accordingly.

Have a great vacation!  If you have any other question please feel free to ask.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
