    Hello! We are planning on taking our son to see Lightning McQueen and Mater this year, however we are worried that they will be in their costumes all day long. Will they look normal during the day and then nighttime in their costumes? Thanks!

    Hi there, Alexis. Thank you for racing over to planDisney with your question!

    I wish I had better news, but unless there is a change from previous years, you and your little one will see Lightning, Mater, and all their pals in their Halloween costumes. Radiator Springs transitions to Radiator Screams with fun overlays and frighteningly fun overlays for Halloween Time. Even the Cars Land sign has a witchy car greeting guests. While things change year to year, I would still prepare yourself and your little one that you'll likely see the Cars in costume.

    Now, before you speed off, Alexis, I do want to reassure you that my boys were Cars movie enthusiasts and loved seeing them dressed up for Halloween. Seeing Red, the fire truck, in a clown costume inspired so many giggles and a very happy memory. Even the rides in Radiator Springs get an overlay with Luigi's Honkin' Haul-O-Ween and Mater's Graveyard JamBooree. For confirmation about these Halloween plans, keep an eye on the Disneyland Instagram and the Disney Parks Blog. They will likely release information on Halloween Time soon!
