Hi Aimee!
There is no better destination than Walt Disney World to celebrate a birthday!
Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort is our go-to restaurant for birthdays in this family. I love that you'll have matching shirts and I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time!
When you arrive at the restaurant to check-in, let the host/hostess know it's your son's birthday. I like to also tell our server as well. In my experience, the server brings out a special cupcake and sings Happy Birthday to the guest of honor. If you feel comfortable, request to the server that you'd like for them to sing.
Did you know you can
order a specialty cake? The Walt Disney World pastry chefs offer a wide variety of cakes to suit any occasion. You can choose practically any character or theme, cake flavor, filling flavor and frosting flavor. We have ordered several of these cakes and they have always been amazing! We had a Lilo & Stitch themed cake one year that was so beautiful, I didn't want to cut it. It had white chocolate seashells, edible sand on the sides and the top looked like ocean waves with Lilo & Stitch transposed on white chocolate standing tall on top. You can box up the leftovers and take it back to your Resort room for breakfast the next day. That's my kind of breakfast!
Don't forget to pick up a birthday button at any Resort hotel front desk or at any park!
Have a magical day!
Leslie
